First of all, I hereby freely waive any and all copy

sell a vehicle for his or her own use. Any commercial usage must
obtain my written permission.
I have never bought an Antique Specialty Vehicle let alone
Sold one before this, but I have learned a little on how to
effectively market your car and will share this experience with
you.
First you have to reach the persons who will be interested in buying
your particular car.
The Internet is great for this for a number of reasons. Not only
do you get international exposure but you can provide the REQUIRED
information your buyer wants, and of course a picture.
You must realize that the person looking for a specific vehicle will
FIND YOU ! All you must do is list your car in the section you might
find a similar vehicle on the Internet yourself.
Build an attractive web site sincerely and openly providing all the
information you have on the vehicle.
You will soon realize that your buyer will probably know far more
about your car than you do.
Each time you are e-mailed a particular question i.e.: numbers, types,
ratios etc. find out the answer and respond quickly, but more
importantly make a note of those questions and incorporate those
answers in your web page because those are the questions you will be
asked over and over again.
Price, This is the Most Important ! You must know the value of your
car in today's market. The Antique market is soft, buyers today are
buying at bargain basement prices, but that doesn't mean you have to
give your car away either.
If you price the car too high you will
not sell the Car, it's that simple. Have your car appraised, find out
what cars like yours are actually SELLING For and that and ONLY that
is what your car is worth.
Price it Right and firm, be patient and it will sell.
Don't get discouraged if you don't sell it the first week or even
month and feel you should just keep lowering the price, that's a
mistake ! After all if you under price your car, the buyer will know
it, but you probably won't, the sale will go quick but don't expect
the buyer to contact you a week or so down the line and send you a
substantial check with a note: " Gee, I've done some soul searching
and the car was worth more than I paid you so here is the
difference."
Prepare your car for immediate sale. Have all papers ready for
transfer. Assist your buyer in anyway you can. Be open, strait and
sincere and most importantly provide a comfortable, pressureless,
environment for your perspective buyer to make his own decision.
After all its generally a substantial investment, don't insult your
buyer's intelligence He/she knows what he wants and if its your car
it will be a sale if not the next person will buy it.
Let your car speak for itself, you are not a salesperson and are not
expected to be an expert. Remember your buyer probably knows more
about your car than you do.
